Quarantining alone in a new city has meant a lot of time spent wandering neighborhoods on foot, taking in my new home. In Portland, that means enjoying the whimsy of streets lined with colorful, historic homes, each one entirely unique. So many homes overflow with personality, and imagining families sitting on these porches or planting flowers in the front lawns has been comforting.
Starting last April, I began painting some of my favorites! Escaping into a project like this has been a way to escape my anxieties, and to explore my creative side, and it means that when I walk around, I take in my surroundings with more intention. I may not be out in the world much at this moment in time, but I am documenting the sliver of world I do have access to, and am so very grateful for it!
