Visiting the Pink City: Jaipur

After our early morning safari in Ranthambore, it was a 3 or 4 hour drive onto Jaipur!

Our first stop in this largest city in Rajasthan was a scenic overlook on the outskirts of the city, where we climbed up tall, unwieldy stairs to take in the view. At the base of the stairs was a quiet temple we visited on our way down.

Then it was an evening in our beautiful heritage hotel, featuring an…interesting… puppet show performed initially just for me, then for me and a few other guests, and then for me and a few other guests, and the hotel staff. If you’re concerned I didn’t get to see this show enough times to fully appreciate it, don’t worry! We got to see repeated again the next night!

Other highlights in Jaipur included the monkey temple, a walk along the lake, and a demonstration of how traditional wood block printing is done.
